Consumer-based location services such as Google, mobile devices with GPS Location, etc. have become commonplace in today’s world because of their ability to act intuitively based on user’s location, preference, and pre-configured parameters (such as a navigation system suggesting a nearby restaurant  it knows you like). This awareness - knowing the location, condition, and activity of the consumer - allows these devices to intelligently and effectively manage processes in real-time.  The results of effective management are widespread, you make your dinner reservation, you save gas, your date isn’t upset, and the list goes on.

InSync recognizes the benefit of this same type of awareness for Enterprise assets. Whereas most assets don’t necessarily have a favorite type of restaurant, they do have expected routes and conditions they must follow from the point of manufacturing through distribution and beyond. For an enterprise, awareness of distributed assets' location, condition and context translates to intelligent and effective management of processes in real-time.

InSync Software provides enterprises with location-aware software solutions that deliver this awareness. These solutions give our customers the ability to logically deduce the state and condition of dispersed assets and perform activities based on a predetermined or exception situation. InSync’s products leverage Auto-ID/Sensor networks (including RFID, barcode, GPS and others) and communication standards to give life to a company's assets - combining sensory data and enterprise information (via ERP, WMS, etc.) for location and condition awareness. The result is a detailed understanding of what has happened, is happening, and should happen at the asset level.

InSync products, including the Edgeware platform and a library of Solutions, feature web-based architecture that creates a unique identity for each asset on-line. A single asset’s real-time location, condition and history can be accessed from anywhere.  Using InSync products, systemic processes such as shipping, receiving, inventory updates and collaboration can be fully automated based on an asset’s location and movement. For example, when an RFID-tagged asset passes through an overseas 3PL dock-door, antennas read the tag, and InSync software compares the shipment information to the original ASN, confirms it’s correct, and updates the inventory levels at the warehouse - all without a single keystroke or risk of human error.

InSync Edgeware is a web-based development platform for RFID, GPS and other location-driven applications. Edgeware features a collection of highly configurable location-aware services, pre-defined workflows and development utilities. These tools allow customers to rapidly develop and deploy applications that act on an asset's real-time location, condition and expected route - within the four walls, or across the globe.

Edgeware runs on mobile devices as well, such as handheld RFID reader/writers. This enables distributed computing with the capability for data acquisition and business logic functions out in the field.
